For the second consecutive year, Air Canada was named the Best Airline in North America at the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards in London on Friday. The win marks the tenth time the flag carrier has claimed the regional title since 2010.

The awards, which Skytrax has operated independently since 1999, are unsponsored, free-to-attend honors determined by a global consumer satisfaction survey across more than 100 countries.

Air Canada edged out Delta Air Lines—the top-ranked U.S. carrier—for the top spot in North America. Air Canada also moved up to 17th worldwide, making it the only North American airline to land in the global top 20. The rest of the top 10 has Porter at number three followed by United Airlines, Alaska Airlines, JetBlue, Air Transat, American Airlines, and Breeze Airways.

WestJet, which was number nine on that list last year, was the only carrier to drop off the list this year.

In addition to the top regional title, Air Canada’s Toronto Signature Suite was named World’s Best Business Class Lounge Dining for the third consecutive year. The airline also picked up the award for Best Business Class Lounge in North America, a segment it’s expanded this year, including with a new lounge in Quebec City.

“We’re incredibly proud to be named Best Airline in North America. On behalf of 40,000 Air Canada coworkers around the world, we thank our customers for their trust, loyalty, and for choosing to fly with us,” Mark Nasr, Executive Vice President & Chief Operations Officer at Air Canada, said.
