Another Major International Airline Joins oneworld Alliance

Oneworld Alliance, the international airline affiliate group that includes Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, British Airways, and more, is adding its 15th member.
Oman Air, the flag carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, announced Monday that it was joining oneworld as its 15th member airline effective July 1. The news gives oneworld loyalty members the ability to earn and redeem miles and points on Oman Air, and gives Oman Air loyalty members access to oneworld priority benefits, including its 700 premium lounges. The highlight of which might be new oneworld-branded lounges in Amsterdam’s Schiphol (AMS) and Seoul’s Incheon (ICN) airports.
Oman will be the second Gulf airline in oneworld, joining Qatar Airways. Others in the alliance currently include Cathay Pacific, Fiji Airways, Finnair, Iberia, Japan Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Qantas, , Royal Air Maroc, Royal Jordanian and SriLankan Airlines, along with more than 20 of their affiliates
Oman has its hub in Muscat International Airport (MCT) and flies to 42 destinations across 22 countries.
