Delta Air Lines will make its AI-powered in-app assistant, which is currently in beta, available to all eligible SkyMiles Members by the end of the summer.
Called Delta Concierge, the assistant will let users cancel flights, view alternative routes, and change their plans if their flight is impacted by weather or another disruption. It will also surface quick, automated answers to inquiries regarding SkyMiles status, upcoming trip details, and general airport navigation.
The AI rollout is part of a broader push by Delta to mitigate traveler friction ahead of the peak summer season. Alongside Delta Concierge, the airline is introducing a digital “take a number” system at domestic hub “Need Help” Centers. Instead of waiting in physical customer service lines during major delays, travelers can scan a QR code to join a virtual queue and receive a text when an agent is available to assist them.
Later this summer, Delta will also introduce automated, in-app standby options for nearby co-terminal airports, allowing travelers in multi-airport cities to easily switch routes during disruptions.

At the same time, Delta is restructuring its onboard experiences with a couple of changes,
First, the carrier is adding FOX One to Delta Sync, which will give guests live access to all 104 matches of the FIFA World Cup 2026 in 4K on Wi-Fi-equipped flights.
Second, Delta is shifting how it handles short-haul snack and beverage service by moving from a three-tier system to a strict 350-mile threshold. Previously, flights under 250 miles received no service, flights between 250 and 499 miles received a limited “Express Service” (water, coffee, tea, and a limited snack choice), and flights 500 miles or above received full service.
Under the new policy, Delta is expanding full snack and beverage service to Comfort+ and Main Cabin passengers on flights of 350 miles and above. However, to accommodate the shift, Delta has eliminated service entirely on flights between 250 and 349 miles.
