Delta Air Lines on Thursday unveiled a slew of new benefits for holders of its American Express co-branded cards, marking the 30th anniversary of Delta’s card partnership.
Effective immediately, Delta is giving Basic Delta SkyMiles Gold, Platinum, and Reserve Card Members (both Consumer and Business) a complimentary second checked bag on domestic, Delta-operated flights. Previously, those cardholders only received their first checked bag for free and had to pay $55—the same as non-cardholders—for a second checked bag.
At the same time, Delta is adding a $120 annual rideshare credit (distributed as up to $10 in monthly statement credits) for Gold and Gold Business Card members, which becomes available after their first card renewal.
The update also creates a closer tie-up between Delta and Delta Vacations. While Delta previously allowed SkyMiles members to earn elite-status metrics on Delta Vacations bookings, it is now integrating the vacation platform directly into the Amex ecosystem. Companion Certificates can now be redeemed toward the eligible flight portion of a Delta Vacations package.
As those benefits are rolled out, Delta is offering four new card designs including a new Slate Grey option for Reserve and Reserve Business Cards, for the 30th anniversary of SkyMiles.
