Advisors with clients interested in a Caribbean vacation can offer their clients easier access to Barbados starting as early as August thanks to increased airlift. Both JetBlue and American Airlines are expanding their service to the Caribbean country.

“We’re extremely excited to expand the airlift servicing our U.S. market for 2023 and going into 2024,” said Eusi Skeete, U.S. director of Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. “We understand that demand for the destination is very high and we’ve been working closely with our longstanding airline partners to meet this demand.”

American Airlines
For late summer travel, American Airlines will be adding an additional daily flight, servicing Miami from August 15 to September 5, 2023. Currently American Airlines has twice daily service from MIA to BGI.

Additionally, U.S. travelers will see daily flights via American Airlines from Charlotte, North Carolina (CLT to BGI) resume from December 21, 2023, through April 3, 2024 (with the exception of Tuesdays and Wednesday from January 8 to March 4, 2024). Currently American only flies once per week between Charlotte and Barbados.

JetBlue
JetBlue is extending its second daily flight from New York (JFK to BGI) through October. The redeye flight was previously scheduled to end at the beginning of September.

“We are continuously identifying growth opportunities to expand airlift across the U.S. market and are quite optimistic for the prospect of increased service, particularly as demand for travel to Barbados remains high,” said Skeete. “We will continue to work closely with our airline partners to create even more travel opportunities as we expand across the U.S.”
