Delta Air Lines Is Returning to London Gatwick Airport

For the first time in 15 years, Delta Air Lines will fly in and out of London’s Gatwick Airport.

Delta is launching nonstop service between New York’s JFK International Airport and London’s Gatwick Airport. Gatwick is located just under 30 miles south of the center of London.

The carrier is flying the route daily on a Boeing 767 with several cabin classes including Delta One, Delta Comfort+, and the carrier’s main cabin.  

“Delta started flying to the UK 45 years ago this month at Gatwick and so it is fitting that we are restarting our operations from Gatwick to the United States,” said Nicolas Ferri, Delta’s vice president of Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India. “On board, customers will discover an elevated service and special touches to make their journey memorable.”

The flights will include Delta’s free Wi-Fi by the end of 2024.

With the launch, Delta is joining a number of carriers who are expanding international service as international travel continues to bounce back post-pandemic. JetBlue is the most notable carrier to add international service, first to London and Paris, and then to Amsterdam, an addition it announced last week.

United Airlines is also boosting its international schedule by 25% this summer, including additional flights to a number of stalwart European destinations such as Rome, Paris, Barcelona, Belin, and London-Heathrow.
