TSA Adds 8 New Airlines to PreCheck

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is expanding the scope of its PreCheck program with eight new airlines— Air Premia, Air Tahiti Nui, Air Transat, Bahamasair, BermudAir, Iberia, La Compagnie, and New Pacific Airlines.

Flyers booked on those airlines, who are enrolled in the PreCheck program, will now be able to take full advantage of the program’s benefits. Those benefits include access to expedited security lanes at U.S. airport checkpoints, which allows users to avoid removing shoes, belts, 3-1-1 liquids, food, laptops, and light jackets. Costs for enrollment vary by provider but are typically around $78 to $85.

While it’s not commonplace, applicants are regularly rejected from PreCheck for a myriad of reasons, including criminal convictions. 

The program is not the same as Global Entry, which the TSA is now offering on departure on at least one airport, though Global Entry does allow access to the PreCheck lines.

PreCheck lines are available at more than 200 U.S. state and territory airports, including the Lynden Pindling International Airport in Nassau, Bahamas, a relatively new addition for PreCheck.
