United Airlines has set dates for its return to Tel Aviv.
The airline will relaunch daily service from Newark Liberty International Airport to Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport on March 15. A second daily flight will be added on March 29. Both routes will be operated on United’s Boeing 787-10 aircraft.
In a message to partners, United said it made the decision following “a detailed assessment of operational considerations for the region and close work with unions who represent our flight attendants and pilots.”
United will be the first major U.S. carrier to resume service to Israel. Delta Air Lines had previously announced plans to restart flights to Ben Gurion but will not do so until April. Delta will operate seven weekly flights between the two cities starting April 1, using its Airbus A330-900neo aircraft.
