MSC Cruises Set to Build Terminal at PortMiami

MSC Meraviglia

MSC Cruises is adding a cruise terminal to its rapid North American expansion. The cruise line announced this week that it has signed an agreement to build a new terminal at PortMiami.

Over the next 18 months, Miami will be the home for a number of MSC ships scheduled to homeport in Miami, including MSC Seaside, MSC Armonia, MSC Meraviglia, and MSC Divina.

“The new agreement and expanded partnership with PortMiami and Miami-Dade County is another key step forward in the business growth of MSC Cruises, as we continue to strengthen our global footprint, with a strategic focus on North America,” MSC Executive Chairman Pierfrancesco Vago said in a statement.

The agreement, which MSC signed with Miami-Dade County, will first give MSC preferential berthing rights at PortMiami. MSC also signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the construction of a new Cruise Terminal AAA.

“The construction of another cruise terminal is further testament of our commitment to U.S. travel partners and their guests, as it will allow us to continue to enhance our service, starting right from embarkation,” MSC Cruises USA President Rick Sasso said.
