Norwegian Viva Debuts in Italy
by Dori Saltzman /Norwegian Viva, the second in Norwegian Cruise Line’s Prima Class of ship, quietly debuted in Italy this week. Unlike the debut of Norwegian Prima, accompanied by pomp and circumstance and a concert by godmother Katy Perry, Norwegian Viva quietly left the port of Trieste for a nine-day Mediterranean sailing, the first sailing with guests onboard.
Nearly identical to Norwegian Prima, Viva features a three-level Viva Speedway go-kart racetrack and multiple slides (water and dry), 11-eatery Indulge Food Hall, full-scale production of “Beetlejuice The Musical,” and more.
Norwegian Via is spending its inaugural season in the Mediterranean before making its ways to Miami in late November where it will officially be welcomed into the fleet by godfather Luis Fonsi. It will then move to San Juan in December where it will operate a season of Caribbean sailings through March 2024.
