Porter Adds Direct Flights to Tampa & Fort Myers

Porter Airlines is adding seasonal roundtrip flights on two new non-stop routes between Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and San Francisco International Airport (SFO). (CNW Group/Porter Airlines Inc.)

Porter has shaken up the market with its economy experience.

Porter is celebrating two inaugural flights this week to Florida.

The Canadian airline has introduced two seasonal direct flights connecting Ottawa to Tampa and Fort Myers.

The nonstop service between Ottawa and Tampa launches today. Porter is offering up to four weekly departures on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

Porter’s new service connecting Ottawa and Fort Myers begins Nov. 28. It will operate three times a week on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

The new flights will operate on Porter’s 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, which feature comforts like free fast WiFi and no middle seats. Both seasonal routes end April 22, 2025.

“As one of the largest carriers operating out of Ottawa, we’re pleased to add these seasonal routes to give travellers more options when they’re planning their winter travel to Florida,” said Edmond Eldebs, senior vice president and chief commercial officer. “Our distinct approach to economy air travel will provide them with an elevated experience that no other airline in North America offers.”

Ottawa – Canada’s capital – is an important hub for Porter: In addition to the new Tampa and Fort Myers routes, Porter also offers nonstop service to Orlando and Fort Lauderdale.

“Florida’s Gulf Coast is popular among Ottawa-Gatineau passengers who plan their escape from our cold winters. We’re thrilled that Porter has added two more options for travellers in their quest for Florida’s warm sunshine and world-renowned sandy beaches,” said Joel Tkach, vice president, business development and marketing, Ottawa International Airport Authority.
