United Airlines hit a major milestone in its Starlink rollout this week, and it is using the Super Bowl stage to make sure travelers know about it.

In less than 10 months since announcing the partnership, United has already equipped more than 300 of its two-cabin regional jets with the service, completing the majority of that fleet. That means roughly 25% of United’s daily departures—about 1,200 flights—are now operating with the high-speed satellite Wi-Fi.

Now, the airline is turning its attention to its mainline fleet. United plans to equip more than 500 mainline aircraft, including Boeing 737s, 777s, and Airbus A321s, by the end of 2026. Once complete, United will have more than 800 Starlink-equipped planes in the sky.

To celebrate, United is running a new ad during the Big Game this Sunday. The spot will air in local markets where United’s Starlink-equipped regional planes are most active, including Cincinnati, Cleveland, Colorado Springs, Denver, Houston, Indianapolis, and Kansas City.

The creative shows flyers put the connection to the test by live-streaming sports, watching movies, and even checking their home security cameras from 30,000 feet.

“We are focused on what we call ‘travel truths’ in our advertising, so with this spot we wanted to recognize the truly giant leap Starlink Wi-Fi represents for our customers and what is now possible,” said Maggie Schmerin, United’s Chief Advertising Officer. “Starlink is transforming the inflight experience on United planes with reliable connectivity that enables everything from productivity to streaming the biggest football game of the season.”
