Aurora Expeditions has announced another high-profile addition to its executive team.

The company announced today the appointment of Katie Malone as chief marketing officer. Joining from P&O Cruises, where she served as marketing director since 2022, the Sydney-based executive will lead the company’s global marketing strategy.

Malone brings to the role over two decades’ worth of experience leading commercially focused marketing teams. She has held senior roles at various travel and tourism companies, including Carnival Corporation, Marriott International, Langham Hotel Group, and Singapore Airlines.

“Joining a business that combines deep respect for our planet with truly life-transformative travel experiences is an opportunity to help shape not just how we market, but why,” said Malone. “I’m proud to be part of a company that exists to inspire, educate, and advocate for the protection and preservation of the world’s most wild places.”

Malone’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for Aurora Expeditions, as the adventure travel company is set to debut its third purpose-built small ship, Douglas Mawson, in December 2025.

“Katie’s deep expertise across global travel and hospitality, combined with her purpose-driven leadership, makes her a fantastic fit for Aurora,” said Michael Heath, CEO of Aurora Expeditions. “Her vision and experience will be instrumental as we continue to grow our brand, expand into new markets, and deliver unforgettable expedition experiences in the world’s most remote and awe-inspiring destinations.”

Aurora Expeditions has been growing its trade-facing team in recent weeks, adding industry veterans from across the cruise industry. Former Royal Caribbean national account manager Eric Valdes is set to join Aurora Expeditions as director of sales for the Midwest and key accounts, while Anthony Iozzia, known for his stints with Atlas Ocean Voyages, Windstar, and Celebrity Cruises, will be sales director for the Northeast U.S. and key accounts.
