Scenic Group Announces Launch of Scenic Ikon

Scenic Group Announces Launch of Scenic Ikon

Scenic Group has announced the upcoming launch of Scenic Ikon, the newest addition to its award-winning Scenic Discovery Yacht fleet, set to debut in April 2028. The vessel is poised to redefine ultra-luxury expedition cruising, offering Canadian travellers and travel advisors an exceptional new product in the high-end exploration market.

Scenic Ikon will host up to 270 guests in 135 all-veranda suites, ranging from 365 sq. ft. to an expansive 2,691 sq. ft. Guests can expect Scenic’s signature combination of world-class design, immersive discovery, and all-inclusive luxury, including exceptional culinary experiences and personalized service.

“Scenic Ikon represents an exciting moment for Canadian travellers, who continue to show strong demand for immersive, all-inclusive yacht experiences. This new Discovery Yacht brings together innovation, ultra-luxury and access to extraordinary destinations offering Canadians a more intimate and enriching way to explore the world,” Lisa McCaskill, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Canada told Travel Market Report Canada.

Purpose-built for both polar and warm-water destinations, Scenic Ikon is engineered to Polar Code 6 standards and features an Ice Class 1A Super–strengthened hull, ensuring seamless navigation in diverse and remote regions.

For exploration, the vessel will carry an impressive array of equipment — including two Airbus helicopters, a custom-designed Triton AVA submersible, Zodiacs, and Fassmer luxury tenders — enabling guests to experience the world’s most extraordinary destinations in unmatched comfort and style.

Scenic Group says the addition of Scenic Ikon will further strengthen its leadership in the ultra-luxury expedition sector, expanding opportunities for travel advisors to engage clients seeking transformative, once-in-a-lifetime voyages.

Glen Moroney, Founder & Chairman of Scenic Group, said: “Scenic Ikon has been conceived, engineered, and built with our in-house shipbuilding division at MKM Yachts and will be operated entirely by our own dedicated Scenic crew.

This remarkable vessel is the result of more than three years of passion, innovation, and development by our team, and we are delighted to share the Discovery Yacht with our valued guests, travel advisors, and partners. Every element of Scenic Ikon’s design has been optimized to deliver unrivalled experiences across diverse destinations and environments, from its primary base, the Mediterranean, to the wilds of Antarctica.”

Guests will be welcomed into luxuriously appointed suites, 15 distinctive dining venues, expansive lounges, and vibrant social and relaxation spaces.

The 18,298 sq. ft, two-level Senses Rejuvenation Spa, will feature signature spa therapies, hydrotherapy, and thermal experiences, enhanced by world-class fitness offerings. Each voyage will include all immersive excursions, exclusive events, and entertainment.

Scenic Ikon will embark on its inaugural voyage from Venice in April 2028, which has already sold out, with the following departures selling strongly. Newly unveiled exclusive helicopter landings at renowned golf courses, celebrated local restaurants, and historic landmarks, together with access to some of the world’s most remote and breathtaking wilderness regions, will feature across the Scenic Discovery Yachts collection. These experiences are included for Chairman’s Club members and for guests in the Penthouse and Owner’s Suites, delivering a rare blend of culture, exhilaration, and discovery.

The maiden season through March 2029 will span 110 ports, 21 countries, and 26 new destinations. Including the Mediterranean, Aegean and Egypt, the Cape Verde Islands, Dakar, Antarctica, the Falkland Islands, and the Chilean Fjords.
