Travel Market Report Makes Major Canadian Commitment With Dedicated Team

The voice of the Canadian travel advisor is getting louder and stronger thanks to a major commitment by North American travel trade publication leader Travel Market Report (TMR).

Travel Market Report is the publication behind the highly successful Travel Market Place conferences, now entering their eleventh year in Canada. Held annually in Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto, the sold-out shows have become must-attend gatherings for travel advisors old and new seeking timely, relevant, skills-based training.

After adding Canadian-based Sarah Milner as editor, Canada early in 2024, the company has announced an expanded Canadian team with decades of experience. John Kirk is the newly appointed executive director and editor-in-chief for Canada, while Marsha Mowers and Bruce Parkinson will join Sarah covering the English Canadian market. Catherine Maissoneuve will report on the distinct Quebec market and supervise the creation of a new dedicated French-language TMR site and daily newsletter.

Travel Market Report is making a big commitment to the Canadian market.

An online business publication that serves as an independent forum and proudly strives to amplify the voice of the travel advisor, TMR provides in-depth coverage and analysis of news and trends affecting leisure travel advisors, along with practical business advice and insights into key growth markets.

“I am thrilled to be joining an organization with a deep commitment to the market and a keen understanding of the unique attributes of the Canadian travel industry,” said Kirk.

“Not only are they investing significantly in human resources with close ties to the advisor community, but they have committed to a new dedicated Canadian website and daily newsletter, with the same elements to follow in Quebec. Being able to reunite with former colleagues, who are all such great friends, makes it that much more special.”

Led by the North American leadership team of senior vice president and publisher Brian Israel and vice president and editor-in-chief Daniel McCarthy, Travel Market Report has earned loyalty and praise from both advisors and suppliers on both sides of the border.

Brian Israel speaks at the first TMPLE Canadian advisor and supplier summit in CUN.

Their efforts, combined with the success of the Canadian Travel Market Place events and the brand-new Travel Market Place Leadership Exchange (TMPLE), which brings together top-producing Canadian agency owners/managers and suppliers from across Canada — and across consortia, have paved the way for the success of TMR in Canada.

TMR already has a strong list of Canadian advisor subscribers who engage daily with educational and business-building content. Now they’ll get that and more, including coverage of supplier, consortia and travel association events and conferences tailored to Canadian readers.
