Los Cabos Catch-Up: Awaiting Amanvari, Canadian Growth & Advisor Focus

Los Cabos Catch-Up: Awaiting Amanvari, Canadian Growth & Advisor Focus

Ultra-luxury brand Aman is coming to Los Cabos.

Los Cabos representatives say the destination continues to solidify its status as one of North America’s premier luxury destinations.

Recent developments include the imminent debut of the first Aman resort in Mexico, Amanvari, along with sustained growth from the Canadian market and enhanced opportunities for travel advisors to connect with the destination.

Reservations Open for Ultra-Luxury Amanvari

Reservations are now open for Amanvari, ahead of the property’s August 1 debut. Marking Aman’s first resort in Mexico, the ultra-luxury retreat will comprise of just 18 casitas and a limited collection of Aman-branded residences within the exclusive Costa Palmas community on Baja’s East Cape.

Set where the desert meets the Sea of Cortez, Amanvari is designed to immerse guests in extraordinary natural surroundings. Accommodations are positioned either among lush palms or directly along the shoreline, with sweeping views of the sea and Sierra de la Laguna mountains.

Each 883-square-foot casita blends indoor and outdoor living through expansive terraces, a private heated pool and outdoor shower, while interiors feature a calming palette of sand-hued natural materials accented by ceramics and original works by local artists.

Guests will have access to the Costa Palmas community, including five kilometres of swimmable beachfront, 18 acres of organic orchards and farms, a Robert Trent Jones II-designed golf course and a private marina and yacht club.

The resort’s culinary program celebrates both Baja’s seasonal bounty and Aman favourites, spanning the brand’s signature Italian restaurant Arva and Sesui, an authentic Japanese concept centred around a 10-seat omakase counter and à la carte dining. At Luma, Mexican cuisine is reimagined through open-fire cooking and coastal traditions.

The Aman Spa will offer six treatment rooms, two Hydro Houses featuring a banya and hammam, and a contemporary temazcal, creating a wellness experience inspired by the elemental connection between land, ocean, and sky.

Los Cabos continues to stake a claim as a luxury destination.

Canadian Market Continues to Grow

Recent destination data underscore Canada’s growing importance to Los Cabos. Travel originating from Calgary increased more than 21% year over year, making it the fastest-growing major Canadian gateway to the destination, while Toronto-origin travel rose more than 15%.

Canada now represents nearly 20 per cent of all visitors to Los Cabos, reflecting the market’s continued strength and long-term potential.

“Canada continues to be a priority market for Los Cabos, and we’re encouraged by the sustained growth we’re seeing from key gateways across the country, ” says Rodrigo Esponda, Managing Director of the Los Cabos Tourism Board.

“As the destination continues to welcome significant investments like Amanvari and benefit from expanded connectivity, we’re equally focused on supporting our travel advisor partners through education and engagement so they can confidently match clients with the exceptional experiences available throughout Los Cabos.”

More Lift Means More Selling Opportunities

This winter, Canadian travellers will have even more ways to reach Los Cabos. Beginning November 16, Porter Airlines will launch new non-stop service from Toronto (three times weekly) and Edmonton (four times weekly), followed by Ottawa (twice weekly) beginning December 18. Air Transat will also introduce weekly non-stop service from Montreal beginning December 10, giving advisors additional options when planning winter travel for their clients.

Talking to the Trade

The Los Cabos Tourism Board will host face-to-face meetings in Ottawa on August 20 and Edmonton on August 21 as part of its North American roadshow, providing advisors with the opportunity to connect with destination representatives, learn about the latest developments and strengthen their knowledge of the destination.

Travel advisors interested in scheduling a personalized appointment during the Ottawa or Edmonton roadshows can contact Maria Avilez, Leisure Promotion Manager, at mavilez@visitloscabos.travel.

For advisors across the country looking to deepen their knowledge of the destination, Los Cabos also offers personalized destination training sessions tailored to individual advisors or agency teams. To request a customized training session, register here.
