Tourism Cares Reminds Travellers of Top LGBTQ+ Friendly Travel Spots for Pride Month

by Marsha Mowers  June 13, 2025
Tourism Cares Reminds Travellers of Top LGBTQ+ Friendly Travel Spots for Pride Month

Tourism Cares’ Chief Experience Officer Jessica Flores.

This Pride Month, Tourism Cares is reminding travellers their Meaningful Travel Map includes LGBTQ+ friendly tourist destinations who exemplify inclusivity, community engagement and pride all year long.

Through collaborations with organizations like IGLTA and HospitableMe, Tourism Cares ensures best practices in LGBTQ+ tourism are shared and celebrated. The Tourism Cares Meaningful Travel Map consists of more than 30 member destinations and over 400 local impact organizations from around the world.

“At Tourism Cares, we believe that travel is for everyone, including LGBTQIA+ travellers and businesses,” Jessica Flores, Chief Experience Officer of Tourism Cares told Travel Market Report Canada.

“When we travel, we have the power to connect people, break down barriers, and create meaningful experiences. Regardless of background, identity, or ability, we must actively work to ensure that all people feel welcomed, represented, and supported. By creating a welcoming experience for all, we can ensure a more thriving industry – for visitors and the destinations that host them.”

As Canadian travel to the US is experiencing a drop, Tourism Cares reminded us that inclusive travel is important for all destinations including those south of the border.

“We have received some feedback from our members and partners on dips in visitation to the U.S. due to the current geopolitical landscape, though some destinations have communicated to us that they are still on par with previous years,” said Flores.

“Travel should be a meaningful experience enjoyed by everyone in any destination. Despite the current political landscape in the US, we know that many US destinations continue to maintain their values and would greatly welcome all visitors.”

A few standout partners of Tourism Cares to visit this month are:

The Lavender Effect (Los Angeles, CA) – Offers guided tours exploring LGBTQ+ history and culture in LA, spotlighting untold stories and hidden gems. Recently featured in the IPW 2024 Meaningful Travel Experience.
