Direct Travel Unveils “Anywhere” Platform to Simplify Life for Advisors

Direct Travel is developing a new technology platform designed to help independent leisure travel advisors spend less time on administrative tasks and more time serving clients and growing their businesses.

Called Anywhere, the platform is targeted for launch in the second quarter of 2027 and promises to bring essential workflows, information and tools together in a more streamlined, user-friendly environment.

Announced Tuesday (Oct. 6) at the company’s Direct Access conference in Toronto, the initiative represents a significant investment in Direct Travel’s leisure advisor network, with a focus on reducing the complexities of day-to-day operations.

Less admin, more selling

Anywhere aims to eliminate the need for advisors to navigate multiple systems to manage their businesses.

Among its key objectives are improving commission visibility and tracking, simplifying administrative processes and providing faster access to information that advisors need to support their clients.

The goal is to give advisors more time to focus on what matters most: building client relationships and generating sales.

Built with advisor input

The concept for Anywhere dates back to spring 2025, when a small internal team at Direct Travel began exploring ways to make technology work better for leisure advisors.

The team posed a question: “What if we could create a platform that not only made advisors more efficient, but also allowed them to work the way they want to work?”.

Over the following 18 months, Direct Travel consulted with leisure advisors across its network to identify common frustrations, understand their workflows and determine where technology could make the biggest difference.

That feedback has played a central role in shaping the platform.

In July 2026, Direct Travel also established two advisory boards consisting of employee and independent leisure advisors to provide ongoing input throughout the development process.

Technology built with advisors

Stephen Smith, EVP, Leisure Travel at Direct Travel, says the platform is intended to address longstanding technology challenges while preserving the independence that advisors value.

“Travel advisors are the backbone of our industry, yet too often they’re forced to navigate technology that creates more complexity than value,” said Smith. “With Anywhere, we’re building a platform that streamlines operations, improves access to information, and helps advisors work more efficiently without sacrificing the flexibility and autonomy that make them successful. This is technology built with advisors, not for advisors.”

Direct Travel says the project is supported by its ownership’s technology expertise and commitment to long-term innovation, allowing the company to invest in solutions that can evolve alongside the needs of advisors and their clients.

Development will continue in collaboration with advisors ahead of the anticipated launch.

Further details about Anywhere’s features, implementation timeline and rollout plans are expected to be announced as Direct Travel approaches its Q2 2027 launch.
