Softvoyage Delays Decommissioning of REVNET After Advisors Express Concerns
by Bruce Parkinson
Softvoyage has responded to concerns expressed by travel advisors about the decommissioning of REVNET — a decades-old ‘blue screen’ booking platform – including an online ‘SAVE REVNET’ petition that has attracted over 1,300 signatures.
The company held a meeting yesterday to decide on a path forward and has agreed to delay the decommissioning until October 1 while it works to create a new web interface that will replace a REVNET function.
Softvoyage Chief Commercial Officer Dan Langevin told Travel Market Report Canada that the system was being used for less than 2% of bookings, and maintaining the platform was becoming increasingly difficult and prohibitively expensive.
“We can’t even find anyone to work on it,” said Langevin. “It’s not web-based – it was created in the early 1990s before the Internet was there.”
Despite the fact that REVNET was being used only in certain specific situations, Softvoyage knew that decommissioning it would inconvenience some advisors.

“This wasn’t an easy decision,” said Langevin. “We knew it was going to cause flack.” And it did. Langevin said the company has received a lot of emails on the subject and responded to all of them.
The online petition on Change.org titled ‘SAVE REVNET’ was created by travel advisor Ricky Panchal, who described the platform as “an amazing tool that is still and always will be used by us agents.”
Despite its age, REVNET still gave advisors access to some deeper, more flexible live inventory and booking functions than the much-newer TripBook.
For example, advisors have particularly valued REVNET for combining connecting flights with vacation packages, booking multiple rooms with different room types, finding alternative flight options and seeing commission information. Without it, some more complicated itineraries would require contacting an operator by phone.
On July 15, 2026, Softvoyage informed the travel industry that REVNET would officially be decommissioned on September 1.
Following the numerous comments received from industry stakeholders, Softvoyage has announced it will make the following changes:
- On October 1, the Option 10 will be deleted from REVNET and be available via TripBook.
- A new web interface will replace the REVENT option 2 ‘ITC Packages’ giving access directly to the tour-operator product inventory, replicating the current REVNET results.
Once completed and in production over the next few weeks, REVNET will be decommissioned, Softvoyage says.
The highly successful Canadian travel technology company says it was never the intention to take away REVNET’s distinct capabilities and replace them with nothing. The company says many of the important functions have already been moved into SIREV/Tripbook and that the web platform will continue to improve.
