From Back Office to AI: Travcom Celebrates 50 Years

Founded in 1976, travel technology company Travcom has spent five decades helping the industry evolve through enormous technological change.
From early back-office technology and accounting through developing ClientLinq for CRM, digital tools, online systems and today’s increasingly connected travel environment, Travcom has evolved alongside its customers.
“Technology has changed dramatically since Travcom began in 1976, but our purpose has remained remarkably consistent: to give travel professionals better tools to work more efficiently, serve their clients better and grow their businesses,” said Michael Miocevich, General Manager, Travcom Canada & ClientLinq.
While the technology has evolved and will continue to do so, the challenge is still the same, to support and empower travel agents to concentrate on sales and provide them the tools to manage every aspect of their business.
Today’s agencies need technology more than ever that makes their people more productive, more efficient and better able to serve their clients.
While Travcom was a pioneer in back-office accounting systems, in 2012 Travcom founded ClientLinq – a web-based CRM platform and invoicing platform designed to support host agencies and independent travel advisors to consolidate all of their data from multiple systems in one place.
“Today, ClientLinq represents the evolution of that experience—bringing the front office, back office and the tools agencies increasingly need together into one connected ecosystem,” said Miocevich. “We call it the Power of One, and as proud as we are of our first 50 years, we’re even more excited about what we can help our customers accomplish next.”
ClientLinq enables independent advisors to manage their client profiles, automate invoicing and accurately track commissions.
In 2020 Travcom expanded into mobile app marketplaces by launching the dedicated ClientLinq TravelDocs app for iOS and Android, giving advisors mobile access to the technology.

Today’s agency may be using any or all of the following platforms: CRM, Back office, Itinerary software, Forms, Website tools, Marketing platforms, Group management, Client communications and AI tools.
And while the individual technologies may work well— collectively they can create technology fragmentation. Clientlinq says it solves that with an integrated, end-to-end solution that supports advisors all the way from booking to balance sheet and everything in between, addressing the complexity of multiple platforms.
“Clientlinq has significantly improved efficiency across our office,” said Sandra Lombardi, co-owner, Luv to Travel. “Invoicing is kept up to date. Automation has given the team the invaluable gift of time; time to focus on what matters, speaking to clients, growing the business, curating trips of a lifetime, as well as allowing a work life balance. No more working late hours to catch up on invoicing!”
Gregory Luciani, President & CEO, Travel Only agrees: “’When advisors join TravelOnly I want them to have the tools and technology to run their business with confidence from day one. ClientLinq is an important part of that. It helps them stay on top of client details so they can spend more time selling travel and looking after their clients.’
