Fiji Drops Testing Requirement for Travelers

Fiji Drops Testing Requirement for Travelers

The sparkling waters of the South Pacific.

Travel to Fiji is continuing its return to normal.

The Fijian government this week dropped its pre-departure tests for vaccinated tourists coming to the island, meaning that fully vaccinated travelers will no longer need to provide a negative test in order to board a flight to Fiji.

There are still other requirements in place—all visitors 16 and older will still need to show proof of vaccination and book a rapid test that needs to be completed within 48 to 72 hours of arrival (tests can be booked through the Entry Test Fiji website).

All visitors will also need to have travel insurance that includes COVID-19 coverage.

Still, even with those requirements still in place, Tourism Fiji CEO said that the move to drop the testing requirement is “another significant step for Fiji.”

“The Fijian Government has continued to respond to data and science, and moved quickly to make these changes,” he said in a statement.

Fiji is still at Level 3 of the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) COVID-19 advisory list, the highest level that isn’t the Do Not Travel level from the CDC.

“Make sure you are up to date with your COVID-19 vaccines before traveling to Fiji.,” the CDC’s warning reads.
