Lufthansa Group Members Fly High with “Stopover” Plans

by Maria Lisella  September 20, 2018

The Lufthansa Group has launched two different stopover plans with SWISS and with Brussels Airlines that include customizable land packages for one to four nights.

Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS), in close collaboration with Switzerland Tourism and Switzerland Travel Centre, is offering the “Stopover Switzerland” program, which allows leisure and business travelers to extend their stopovers by one to four nights. Eight customizable travel packages includes accommodations in a three- or four-star hotel plus all public transportation within one Swiss city, such as Zurich, Interlaken or Lucerne, and includes a Swiss Travel Pass for 1st or 2nd class travel for unlimited rides on Switzerland’s extensive public transport system.

Brussels Airlines’ “Belgium Stop Over” plan offers visits to two Belgian cities — Brussels or Durbuy (Europe’s tiniest city) — for a stay of one to five days. Partnerships with Visit Flanders, Visit Brussels and Wallonie Belgique Tourisme, and 14 Belgian cities, travelers gain free access to tourist attractions sich as museums during their stopover.

In other news, Lufthansa now offers passengers a new taxi-sharing service called mytaximatch with savings of up to 50 percent departing from the taxi rank (P31) at Terminal 2 at Munich Airport.

For a preview of new service for 2019, Eurowings announced thrice weekly service from Dusseldorf to Las Vegas starting on July 3, 2019.
