Swoop Restarts London to Cancun Route
by Daniel McCarthy /Canadian ultra-low-cost carrier Swoop has officially restarted service between London International Airport in Ontario and Cancun International Airport.
Swoop will fly the route twice-weekly now, giving its Canadian customer base another sun destination. To celebrate its launch, Swoop is offering fares as low as $179 CAD each way for travel between the two cities this winter.
That offer goes with its $119 CAD fare for its London to Orlando, Fla. service, another sun destination that Swoop has recently added.
“As Canada’s leading ultra-low fare airline, we are thrilled to celebrate the return of sun flying from London, beginning with today’s flight to Cancun and tomorrow’s to Orlando,” said Bob Cummings, President of Swoop.
“We know residents of the London area value the convenience and affordability that their local airport offers, and so we’re proud to make winter getaways easier with more frequent ultra-affordable flights to Mexico and Florida.”
Swoop also recently added non-stops to Punta Cana and Ft. Lauderdale, continuing its focus on sun destinations from Canadian cities. The Ft. Lauderdale service will start on Dec. 16 and the Punta Cana service will start on Jan. 11.
Bert van der Stege, Swoop’s head of commercial and finance, spoke to TMR earlier this year and said that travelers should expect Swoop to continue that rapid expansion, both inside and outside Canada.
