This European-style hotel in downtown D.C. blends historic elegance with everyday comforts. The 136 guest rooms and 22 luxury suites have a certain charming homeyness to them with wood furnishings, spacious work desks, and stainless-steel wet bars. They also boast German and Italian fabrics and Frette linens. Some accommodations overlook James Monroe Park, while others have a view of Pennsylvania Avenue.
Hotel Lombardy celebrates its 30th year as a hotel and 20th year as part of Historic Hotels of America in 2024. Though it became a hotel in 1994, the property had housed upscale private residences since the Roaring Twenties.
Hotel Nell Union Market
Chic, rustic, and industrial style, this Union Market hotel is well-suited for the on-the-go, modern-day traveler. The property showcases vibrant artwork and features 106 guest rooms, from spacious suites to efficient micro rooms.
Hotel Nell is well known for its Treehouse Rooftop bar that offers picturesque views of the city. It also has its own cafe, Bolgiano’s Pantry, and is home to the new D.C. Cooking School with more than 20 classes to choose from.
Phoenix Park Hotel
Part of Historic Hotels of America, Phoenix Park Hotel’s history is integral to its charm. It originally opened in 1927 as The Commodore. When an Irish American entrepreneur bought the building in 1982, he renamed it after Europe’s largest urban park, Phoenix Park, in Dublin. Now, the hotel combines 18th century Irish manor house influences with classic Georgian Revival-style design.
Guests also get a taste of Ireland at The Dubliner Irish Pub and Restaurant, located inside the hotel and serving authentic Irish cuisine and beer. Phoenix Park offers 149 guestrooms and suites, including three penthouse suites and three bi-level suites for luxury travelers.
The Dupont Circle
The Dupont Circle, a Doyle Collection hotel, has a fresh and airy, contemporary feel after undergoing a major, multi-million-dollar renovation just a few years ago. The interior design blends neutral shades in the furnishings with pops of color in the artwork and decor.
This 5-star hotel has a variety of guest room categories, including 13 suites all on their own suite floor. The Dupont Circle also offers the much sought-after rooftop Penthouse Suite, which features a heated outdoor terrace, firepit, and projector for movie nights. For dining, guests enjoy the new hotel bar, Doyle; the Pembroke restaurant; and new takeout coffee and chocolate cafe, Doyle & Co.
Salamander Hotel
Located in Washington D.C.’s southwest corner, Salamander Hotel offers an upscale stay within walking distance of the city’s famous monuments, dining and nightlife at The Wharf, shopping at L’Enfant Plaza, and the National Mall.
The hotel itself provides quality service, newly updated guest rooms and suites, a spa, a spacious lobby area, and meeting spaces and a grand ballroom for events.
