Canadian Travel Advocate Promotes Consumer Protection
by Richard D’AmbrosioThe Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) has launched a consumer protection awareness campaign that highlights the protections of booking travel with a TICO-registered travel agency or website.
The campaign is running on television and online platforms through Jan. 22, 2017, using two different 15-second commercials. One highlights the Travel Compensation Fund and the other reminds travelers that a TICO agent protects their travel investment, and will remember all the little details a traveler might forget.
Formed in 1997, TICO is a not-for-profit corporation wholly financed by Ontario-registered travel agents and wholesalers. It administers the Travel Industry Act, 2002 and the Ontario Travel Industry Compensation Fund.
