Geneva-based luxury hotel management company Kempinski announced on Monday that Timur Sentuerk, a 30-year hospitality industry veteran, is coming aboard as its new chief operating officer.

Sentuerk most recently served as chief people officer at private equity-funded start-up Pure Data Centres, but has a career that includes time at Langham Hospitality Group, Pan Pacific Hotels Group, Ritz-Carlton, Oberoi Hotels & Resorts, Mandarin Oriental, and more.

In a statement announcing the move, Kempinski CEO Bernold Schroeder said that Sentuerk is coming aboard at an important time in the hotel company’s journey.

“Throughout his career, Timur Sentuerk has amassed great operational and corporate leadership experience and possesses a strong understanding of the global luxury hospitality operations and stakeholder relationships driven by his tremendous passion for people,” he said.

“As we will see new hotel openings and takeovers in the EMEA region in the near future, Timur is joining us at an important point in our journey.”
