ASTA Launches Global Travel Advisor Day Contest

Travel advisors can now enter a simple social media contest to win one of at least six prizes from the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA). 

To celebrate Global Travel Advisor Day on May 1, ASTA is hosting a social media contest sponsored by Sandals Resorts International. To enter, ASTA members need only make a social media post promoting the value of travel advisors for Global Travel Advisor Day, then email a link to the post and their name, with the subject line SOCIAL MEDIA CONTEST, to mnorton@asta.org. 

All eligible participants will be entered, and winners will be randomly selected. The contest allows only one entry per person. Here are the prizes ASTA has announced so far: 

  • Grand Prize- One (1) Four (4)-night stay at the new Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Resort  
  • One (1) Registration for ASTA’s Sold-Out 2025 River Cruise Expo in Vienna, Austria  
  • One (1) Registration to ASTA’s 2025 Travel Advisor Conference (five (5) winners selected)  
  • One (1) Registration to ASTA’s 2025 Caribbean Showcase (three (3) winners selected)  
  • One (1) Set of Two (2) Roundtrip Flights on Southwest Airlines  
  • One (1) $150 BWH Hotels gift card, to be used for any hotel stay, or through the BWH online loyalty program 

ASTA has also offered a social media toolkit with graphics for advisors to use for their posts, as well as content suggestions in collaboration with POLITICO Focus, which provided facts and figures about travel advisors’ impact on the industry.
