Air Canada Adds Year-Round Service to Madrid from Montreal
by Daniel McCarthy /Air Canada is expanding its route network, adding a new year-round route between Montreal and Madrid.
Air Canada will fly the route on a 255-seat Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, which includes three cabins of service—Signature Class with lie-flat seats, Premium Economy, and Economy Class.
The new route will kick off next May as part of Air Canada’s expanded 2023 summer flying schedule. In its announcement, Air Canada said that it plans to operate 100% of its peak summer 2019 trans-Atlantic capacity in 2024.
That includes service from Montreal to Athens, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Casablanca, Copenhagen, Lisbon, Milan, Nice, Rome, and Venice. It also includes a full slate of flights between Air Canada’s Toronto hub and Europe, including flights to Athens, Brussels, Lisbon, London, Rome, and more.
“Air Canada saw a tremendous rebound in international flying this past summer, particularly on the trans-Atlantic, and we expect Europe will remain popular next year. In anticipation of this, we are expanding our flying schedule to offer customers more choice and flexibility as they begin to plan their 2024 holidays,” said Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President of Revenue and Network Planning at Air Canada.
