Marriott’s EDITION Hotels is continuing to expand worldwide, readying to double the size of its portfolio to 30 properties by 2027.

Currently, the brand has 15 hotels opened worldwide, including a new one in Madrid that opened this year, but the plan is now to expand the portfolio to 30 hotels by 2027.

That includes four hotels in four new destinations for EDITION set to open next year—Rome, Mexico’s Riviera Maya, Singapore, and Jeddah—along with a second EDITION hotel in Tokyo.

The Rome EDITION, set to open in Spring 2023, will add 93 new rooms and suites, including two penthouse suites, just a few stops from Via Veneto and Bernini’s Triton Fountain in Piazza Barberini.  It includes a signature restaurant with outdoor dining space and a cocktail lounge called Punch Bar Room.

The Riviera Maya EDITION at Kanai, which is expected to open next summer, will add 180 rooms and suites to the Kanai development, along with six food and beverage outlets, meeting space, and more.

The Singapore EDITION, set to open in fall 2023, will add 190 rooms to the downtown Orchard district, along with five restaurant and bar venues, a rooftop pool, a spa, and indoor and outdoor meeting space.

The Jeddah EDITION, set to open next summer, the third EDITION property in the Middle East, adds 63 rooms, including 11 suites, to the Jeddah Corniche close to the city’s F1 racetrack.

The Tokyo EDITION, Ginza, which will also open next summer, follows The Tokyo EDITION, Toranomon, which opened in late 2020. The new hotel will add 78 rooms and suites, three food and beverage destinations, and meeting space just off the city’s Chuo Street.

After that, EDITION has plans to open two new branded residences in Miami Edgewater and Fort Lauderdale, anticipated to launch in 2026 and 2027 respectively.

“EDITION’s rapid hotel growth and the interest from the development community to build standalone residences clearly illustrates the strength of the brand,” Josh Fluhr, senior vice president and global managing director of EDITION said.

“By the end of 2023, we expect that EDITION will operate in 20 destinations as we add hotels in new and existing markets across three continents while continuing to build a robust pipeline.”
