Allianz Releases New Travel Advisor Handbook
by Daniel McCarthy /Allianz Partners last week released its first-ever “Advisor Handbook” for its travel advisor partners.
The handbook, which was previously known as the company’s marketing guide, includes a number of tools for travel advisors to help them navigate the world of Allianz’s travel insurance offerings. That includes a glossary of terms, sales tips, marketing best practices, a list of “covered reasons” for trip cancellations, and more.
It also includes a section on Allianz’s SmartBenefits, which issues payments to Allianz-insured guests should their flight or bags get delayed during vacations. As of May 2022, 2.6 million customers have already been covered by SmartBenefits, and 224,000 flights have been monitored.
According to Allianz, there has been a significant shift from COVID-19-related travel disruptions to travel delays when it comes to claims and SmartBenefits is catering to that shift—delays now compromised 83% of claims paid through SmartBenefits and baggage delays make up about 17% of them.
