Rosewood’s fifth European property and first in the German-speaking market, Rosewood Vienna, is now open.

The hotel occupies the former headquarters of the Erste Group Bank AG, a 19th-century historic landmark that includes the apartment in which Mozart lived and wrote one of his most famous pieces of music The Abduction from the Seraglio.

Rosewood Vienna sits in Petersplatz, one of Vienna’s most famous squares, and not far away from some of its iconic pedestrian streets including Graben, Kohlmarkt, and Tuchlauben.

In total, Rosewood Vienna offers 71 guestrooms and 28 suites across four of the building’s seven floors. Each room includes handcrafted brass wall light fixtures, custom furnishings, and a neutral color palette.

Its top offering is the presidential suite called Hoffmann House, named after a Viennese modernist architect and designer and founder of the Wiener Werstätte design company. The 1,916 sq. ft. suite includes a master bedroom, living room, separate entertainment area, kitchen, and dining room with seating for eight.

The Hoffmann House suite can be connected to up to seven guestrooms if needed.

For dining, the hotel offers Neue Hoheit, which translates to “New Highness,” on its sixth floor. It offers a menu of European dishes, including Austrian classics. Also on property are The Garden Room and Secret Garden, private indoor and outdoor dining rooms on the sixth floor and seventh-floor rooftop.

Rosewood Vienna also debuts with Asaya Spa, the first for a European Rosewood property, which takes up the fifth and sixth floors of the building. Guests can choose from a menu of spa treatments and wellness programs with Viennese influences while enjoying views of St. Peter’s Church.

The hotel also offers some meeting space on its first floor that can accommodate up to 110 individuals across four rooms.

With the addition, Rosewood’s European footprint now includes Austria along with the U.K. (Rosewood London), Italy (Rosewood Castiglion in Tuscany), France (Hotel de Crillon in Paris), and Spain (Rosewood Villa Magna in Madrid).

"The opening of Rosewood Vienna offers today's ultra-luxury travelers a new kind of Viennese lifestyle, one that is imbued with the rich history of the destination yet the modern and cosmopolitan outlook befitting this dynamic European capital," said Alexander Lahmer, Managing Director of Rosewood Vienna. "We are thrilled to open our doors to a distinctive hospitality experience in one of the world's greatest cities."
