Air Canada Adds New Flight to Singapore

Travelers can once again fly direct to Singapore from Canada.

Yesterday, Air Canada celebrated the inaugural flight for its new route connecting Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and Singapore Changi Airport (SIN). The only non-stop flight between Canada and Singapore, the new route is expected to generate $18 million (CAD) in economic output.

“Air Canada is thrilled to welcome customers onboard our newest route linking Canada and Singapore from our Pacific hub in Vancouver,” said Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President, Revenue and Network Planning at Air Canada. “These new Singapore flights are part of our strategic expansion at YVR, which together with an efficient and seamless in-transit connection process, further position the airport as the preferred North American gateway to Asia.”

The 16-hour flight marks Air Canada’s longest flight measured by distance, at 12,818 kilometres (7,965 miles). The airline offers four flights weekly year-round, operated with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. Customers can choose between three cabins: Economy, Premium Economy, and Signature Class.

Changi Airport is a major hub for travel in Asia—and for more than 10 years running, it’s been ranked by Travel + Leisure as the best airport in the world. “Singapore is also an important gateway to beyond destinations. Customers have a multitude of connection options travelling to Southeast Asia, Southern India and Western Australia with our longstanding codeshare and Star Alliance partner, Singapore Airlines,” Galardo added.
