Belize Gets a Lift as WestJet Adds Winnipeg Flights Along with Calgary & Toronto

The Belize Tourism Board is pleased with WestJet’s announcement that it will launch a new nonstop service between Winnipeg Richardson International Airport (YWG) and Philip Goldson International Airport (BZE), further strengthening air connectivity between Canada and the English-speaking Central American nation.
The new route will operate once weekly beginning December 14, 2026, offering travellers from Manitoba a direct gateway to Belize in time for the winter travel season. WestJet says the service reflects its continued expansion of its leisure network in response to growing demand across the region.
“These additions support the growing demand for options in Mexico and the Latin Caribbean, while sustainably expanding our schedule and managing our fleet during the peak winter travel season,” said WestJet EVP & CCO John Weatherill.
“We are excited to offer more ways for guests to trade their snow boots for sandals in the destinations that matter most to them, and we look forward to the travel stories that will take off from these exciting new options.”
The new Winnipeg service complements WestJet’s existing nonstop flights from Toronto and Calgary, giving Canadians travellers even greater access to Belize’s diverse tourism experiences, from the Belize Barrier Reef and world-class diving to ancient Maya sites, lush rainforests, wildlife, and rich cultural heritage.
