CLEAR Debuts at Maui’s Kahului Airport

Airport security company CLEAR has landed at Maui’s Kahului Airport (OGG).

CLEAR this week debuted new lanes at Kahului, giving users access to its expedited lanes at security checkpoints, and giving CLEAR its 57^th airport location overall.

Kahului is also just the first of two Hawaii airports that CLEAR had planned to add this year—the company says that its new lanes at Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) will launch “in the coming weeks.”

“The addition of CLEAR to our airport system, starting with Kahului Airport, will provide frequent travelers with an option to help make the security screening experience faster and more efficient,” said Ed Sniffen, director of the Hawaii Department of Transportation.

CLEAR costs $189 per person per year, more expensive than known traveler programs like TSA PreCheck and Global Entry. It does allow members to add up to three family members to their account for $99 each and family members under 18 to enter the CLEAR lane for free.  

To celebrate its Hawaii launch, CLEAR is offering HawaiiMiles Pualani Platinum, Pualani Gold, and Premier Club members a preferred membership rate of $149, and HawaiianMiles members a preferred rate of $179.

Recently, the TSA announced that it was adding PreCheck enrollment options at some CLEAR airport locations.
