Carnival Revises Splendor Itinerary Due To Propulsion Problems
by Daniel McCarthyCarnival Cruise Line has been forced to cancel scheduled calls by Splendor at St. Thomas and Amber Cove due to ongoing propulsion issues with the ship.
According to a statement by the cruise line, the issues, which first came up last week, are still being worked on by Carnival’s technical team.
This week’s seven-day Caribbean itinerary out of Miami, which departed Sunday, will now include an overnight stay in Nassau and a full day in Freeport instead of the St. Thomas and Amber Cove calls.
Carnival is offering all guests a 50% refund of their cruise fare and a 50% future cruise credit, along with $100 per person in shipboard credits. Guests who wanted to cancel were allowed to do so without penalty.
