The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is teaming up with visa services provider OneVasco to make navigating international travel requirements easier for passengers.

Under the partnership, OneVasco’s visa concierge service will be integrated into IATA’s Timatic Solutions, allowing travellers to check entry requirements and proceed directly to applying for a visa through a connected digital platform.

The integration aims to eliminate some of the complexity associated with international travel documentation, particularly for passengers who require visas before departure.

“Understanding what travel documents and visas are required for a journey is complicated. Joining forces with OneVasco will help passengers navigate travel requirements that can be time consuming and onerous. Together, we will help travelers understand the requirements and how to fulfil them,” said Frederic Leger, IATA’s senior vice president, products & services, in a release.

One platform, fewer hurdles

The partnership comes as visa and immigration requirements continue to discourage some passengers from travelling internationally.

According to IATA’s 2025 Global Passenger Survey, 33 per cent of passengers said complicated visa and immigration requirements had deterred them from travelling, an increase of three percentage points compared to 2024.

Travellers from Africa and the Middle East were particularly affected.

Among respondents discouraged by visa or documentation requirements, 53 per cent identified the complexity of the process as their primary concern.

Through the new integration, travellers will be able to access OneVasco’s concierge services for both electronic visas and traditional sticker visas.

Services will include eligibility checks, document verification, application assistance, secure payments and application status tracking.

“Bringing Timatic and OneVasco together on a single platform will simplify visa journeys and enhance the passenger experience for IATA partners. Through this partnership, travelers will have access to OneVasco’s visa concierge services, including support for both e-visas and sticker visas, with eligibility checks, document verification, application assistance, secure payments, and status tracking. This builds on the trusted service we deliver to travelers globally,” said Mahesh Anchan, COO of OneVasco.

The visa concierge service will be available to airlines as an optional addition to IATA’s Timatic Solutions, including integration with Timatic Web and Timatic Widget.

Travel information from Timatic will also be incorporated into OneVasco’s visa platform, creating a more connected process for passengers researching entry requirements and completing visa applications.
