Exodus Travels Announces New Winter Adventures

by Jessica Montevago  November 02, 2016

For the winter season, Exodus Travels is introducing 12 new winter adventures to its 2017 catalog. For clients with a penchant for adventure travel, the new offerings range from cross-country skiing in Iceland to dogsledding in Findland.

Cycle through Lapland’s Oulanka National Park by the chunky, extra grip tires of their fat bikes. Accommodations for the eight-day tour include remote wilderness cabins with wood-burning fireplaces and traditional saunas.

Travelers can cross-country ski in several snowy locations. In Iceland, the weeklong adventure begins at a ski area near Reykjavik and heads north to Akureyri, a small settlement that sits at the head of Iceland’s longest fjord.  The Jura Cross-Country Ski Tour takes guests to one of France’s top cross-country skiing destinations, ending in Les Rousses, a traditional French winter resort. Avid skiers can travel from Finland to Russia, following new tracks made each day exclusively for Exodus’ small group.

In a remote part of Finnish Lapland, expert guides lead travelers deep into the wilderness in hopes of seeing the Northern Lights. The new Aurora adventure includes an interactive day spent at a local reindeer herder’s farm where guests learn to throw a Lappish lasso and take a reindeer sleigh ride.

Or, travelers can “mush” their own team of Alaskan or Siberian huskies across Lapland, spending two nights in remote wilderness cabins close to the Arctic Circle.
