Seven Hyatt Resorts in Jamaica to Remain Closed Until November 2026

Seven Hyatt hotels in Jamaica will remain closed until November 2026, according to a Hyatt spokesperson. The decision comes after a detailed assessment of the properties’ damage from Hurricane Melissa, which struck the island on Oct. 28.

The following resorts have suspended operations and will reopen on Nov. 1, 2026:

  • Breathless Montego Bay Resort & Spa
  • Dreams Rose Hall Resort & Spa
  • Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall
  • Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall
  • Secrets St. James Montego Bay
  • Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay
  • Jewel Grande Montego Bay Resort & Spa

The spokesperson told Travel Market Report that the closures are intended to allow time both to repair storm damage and to enhance offerings “so that, upon resuming normal operations, they provide even more unforgettable experiences and honor the high standards of Jamaican hospitality as the island completes its recovery.”

Hyatt has contacted guests and travel advisors with impacted reservations to offer alternative accommodations at other Hyatt Inclusive Collection properties in nearby destinations or to cancel without penalty.

“Hyatt remains committed to the renovation of these hotels in Jamaica,” the spokesperson said, “resuming hotel operations, and supporting the island’s broader recovery, with the wellbeing of our colleagues and surrounding communities as a top priority.”
