Small group adventure specialist Intrepid Travel has added 28 new itineraries to its 2026 active lineup, bringing the tour operator’s total active range to 148 trips spanning six continents.
Intrepid’s active trips include a range of activities and intensity levels to add flexibility for various interests and fitness levels. Sample experiences include hiking, cycling, kayaking, snorkeling, and rafting.
The new active trips are being introduced to meet increased demand in the market. Active adventures are Intrepid’s fastest-growing category, with year-over-year sales up 9% and multi-active trips up 23%. Externally, the global cycling tourism is expected to nearly double in the next decade, and hiking tours are growing approximately 6% annually.
“Intrepid’s style of travel has always resonated with people seeking active adventure, which makes this broader societal shift towards health and wellbeing especially exciting,” said Erica Kritikides, general manager of experiences at Intrepid Travel.
Lengths vary from the three-day Premium Hiking in the Grand Canyon to the 10-day Hiking in Romania: Via Transilvanica Trail. As with all Intrepid trips, these itineraries have small group sizes (maximum 10 or 12 travelers).
The new trips are available to book now with departures starting in February 2026.
Among the recent additions for 2026 are Intrepid’s Short Breaks travel style, which features four- to six-day itineraries.
“These trips let travellers move, explore and reconnect with nature, while sharing the experiences with a community of like-minded travellers,” added Kritikides. “This style of travel takes you beyond the beaten path to hard-to-reach places, offering unique and immersive experiences that take you to the very heart of a destination.”
