Intrepid Travel has launched “Short Breaks,” a new collection of four- to six-day itineraries, created with North American travelers in mind.

One of the travel trends to come out of summer 2025 was the rise in shorter stays. Based on Intrepid’s own internal research, over half of travelers are interested in trips over shorter periods.

Intrepid’s new product line is poised to meet that demand, offering advisors flexible, budget-friendly options that cater to busy schedules and limited vacation time, while maintaining the tour operator’s signature small-group style and commitment to responsible tourism.

“We know how transformative travel can be, but the luxury of time is not something that everyone has. Intrepid Short Breaks aren’t just about taking time off – they’re about making the most of it, with meaningful experiences that allow travelers to see and do more in fewer days,” said Erica Kritikides, general manager of experiences at Intrepid Travel.

Short Breaks is debuting with 10 brand-new itineraries in Latin America and Europe, plus 45 refreshed trips worldwide. With the addition of 27 Independent Short Breaks for self-guided travelers, the collection features a total of 82 itineraries.

Sample itineraries include the four-day Acatenango Volcano Hike and Antigua Short Break in Guatemala’s volcanic landscapes, the five-day Paris and Normandy Short Break in France, and the four-day Venice and Treviso Short Break in Italy.

“Imagine a weekend trip to Guatemala – you climb an active volcano, hike along forest trails to visit a women-led regenerative farming project, learn to make tortillas in a Guatemalan culinary workshop, and then you’re back in the office on Tuesday, a completely changed person,” said Kritikides. “That’s what these trips are about.”
