IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed on a new Kimpton branded property in Madrid. The hotel will mark the brand’s debut in Spain’s capital city and the fourth in the country, joining Kimptons in Barcelona, Mallorca, and Marbella.
Kimpton Madrid will be a 106-key hotel occupying a heritage building in the heart of the city’s Barrio Salamanca neighborhood. Expected to open in mid-2030, it is anticipated to feature a ground-floor restaurant, spa and indoor pool, as well as a rooftop bar and restaurant overlooking the city.
“The signing of our first Kimpton in Madrid marks an exciting milestone for IHG as we continue to grow our luxury and lifestyle portfolio in strategic markets across Europe,” said Willemijn Geels, Vice President, Development, Europe, IHG Hotels & Resorts. “Madrid has firmly established itself as one of Europe’s most compelling destinations for luxury travel, and this exceptional hotel will give guests a distinctive new way to experience the city through Kimpton’s bold design, heartfelt service and locally inspired experiences.”
In keeping with Kimpton’s brand ethos, Kimpton Madrid will draw on local culture for its design, experiences, and food and beverage program.
