Following a two-week dry dock in the Bahamas, Holland America Line’s Zuiderdam has returned to service with additional ocean view staterooms, a redesigned Crow’s Nest, refreshed public areas and cabins, and more.
New & Refreshed Staterooms
One of the most significant updates during Zuiderdam’s dry dock was the addition of 11 ocean view staterooms on decks 1 and 7. The dry dock also included refreshments to most cabins, including new carpeting in all verandah staterooms on decks 5 through 10, as well as in Neptune, Signature, and Pinnacle suites. Verandah staterooms on Deck 8 also received full bathroom updates, including new vanities, mirrors, bathtubs, floors, and walls.
About 300 other staterooms across the ship were also fitted with new bathroom flooring and updated wallpaper.
Crow’s Nest Refresh
Another significant refurbishment was in the Crow’s Nest, which now features a newly added bandstand stage designed for small performances and events. The space also received upgraded lighting and audio systems.
Revitalized Dining Venues & Public Areas
Guests aboard Zuiderdam will also notice refreshed public spaces throughout the ship. New carpeting was added in the dining room, Lido Market, Canaletto, guest corridors, stairwells, elevator lobbies, and the Greenhouse Spa & Salon. The Atrium also received new carpeting, as well as a fresh coat of paint, while Canaletto and Lido Market received updated upholstery on dining chairs and banquettes.
The Photo Gallery now features a redesigned sales counter and retail area where guests can browse and purchase photographs taken on board as cruise keepsakes. In addition, new furniture for the outdoor deck and hydro pool area enhance spaces where guests can sit back and relax.
