Katarina Line Rebrands For 2018

by Daniel McCarthy  May 08, 2017

Croatia-based Katarina Line will separate its fleet into six different vessel categories for 2018, based on size, service and amenities onboard.

Currently, Katarina Line separates its ships into four different designations—Deluxe, A plus, A and B. The new categories that go into effect next years are in response to a growing demand for its cruises, according to marketing director Daniel Hauptfeld.

The new categories include Deluxe Superior, which will be made up of newer ships that are a minimum of 154 long and have been built or renovated within the past year. It will be followed by Deluxe, a category that includes ships between 137 and 154 feet long.

All Deluxe Superior sailings include live entertainment twice a week and four-course meals while Deluxe ships will sport those same amenities, only with live entertainment once a week.

Premium Superior will include newer category A plus ships similar to its current Deluxe ships but smaller in length. Premium will then include the smaller, spacious, steel-hulled ships. Premium Superior sailings include daily breakfast and lunch with three guided sightseeing tours with Premium sailings offering the same amenities but with just one sightseeing tour.

Smaller wooden ships will be separate into two separate categories—Tradition Ensuite for ships with cabins with private bathrooms; and Traditional for ships with cabins with shared showers and toilets.
