Windstar Cruises is keeping it all in the family with the appointment of Libby Anschutz as godmother of its newest ship Star Seeker, which debuts early next year. Her sister, Sarah Anschutz will be named godmother of Star Explorer when it debuts in 2026. Both are the daughters of Windstar’s owner Phil Anschutz.
“Seeing Star Seekerfor the first time was an unforgettable experience—the design, warmth, and attention to detail all felt distinctly Windstar,” Libby Anschutz said after touring the ship last month with Windstar president Chrisotpher Prelog. “I’m honored to serve as Godmother and look forward to celebrating this incredible new chapter with the team and our guests in January.”
“Having the Anschutz Family so deeply engrained in the debut of Star Seeker is an extraordinary honor and a deeply personal milestone for all of us at Windstar,” said Prelog. “Libby’s role as Godmother brings heart, creativity, and a genuine connection to what we do, and her blessing of our newest yacht makes this new chapter even more meaningful.”
Following the ceremony, Star Seeker will depart on a nearly sold-out seven-night cruise from Miami to San Juan.
The 224-guest Star Seeker is the first purpose-built yacht in the Star Class fleet. Star Explorer joins the fleet in December 2026.
