Atlantis Paradise Island Announces New Hotel Concept

The Coral Tower at Atlantis, Paradise Island, in the Bahamas will undergo a multi-million dollar renovation, the company announced Tuesday, reopening next year as The Corals Atlantis.

The $20-million project is being designed to transform the family-friendly, relaxed atmosphere of The Coral Tower into a sleek and modern social hub for the resort. The rebranded hotel will be geared primarily toward Millennial travelers, couples and groups. New additions include an adults-only pool, all-new lobby and dining concepts, and revamped rooms.

The Corals Atlantis will be the most centrally located of Atlantis’ accommodations, just a short distance from the resort’s marina, shopping center, casino and conference center.

Acclaimed interior architect Jeffrey Beers will design the poolscape around the adults-only Blu pool—exclusive to The Corals guests—to include poolside cabanas, floating daybeds, an outdoor dining area and a live DJ.

Upgraded guestrooms will be furnished with light-grey tile flooring, mahogany wood furniture and white bedding, and accented with bronze and mirrored décor.

The lobby and most guestrooms and guest amenities will remain open during the initial phase of renovations. Atlantis said it will release more details of the second phase, set to begin in early 2017, in the coming months.

The Corals Atlantis will be one of five hotels, including the ultra-luxury Cove Atlantis, Reef Atlantis, Beach Tower and Royal Towers. The massive ocean-themed property also features 19 bars, 21 restaurants, an indoor aquarium and a 141-acre waterpark.
