Iberostar will take over management of Havana’s Landmark Hotel Riviera January 2017, marking the Spain-based company’s 12th hotel in Cuba.
The property, first opened in 1957, will undergo extensive renovations. The five-star Iberostar Riviera will feature 352 fully refurnished rooms and updated public spaces, but the legendary Cabaret Copa Room, one of the most well-known spots for Havana nightlife, will remain.
Iberostar also operates the IBEROSTAR Parque Central in Havana.
Later in 2017, it will add another property to its Cuban portfolio with the 827-room Iberostar Bella Vista Varadero. The company said “Cuba is a tremendously important destination” for Iberostar and it will remain committed to “offering top quality and highly competitive accommodation options in this country.”
