Florida-based Brightline, one of the only providers of modern, eco-friendly, intercity rail in America, continues adding new routes and services.

And here’s why agents should care.

“Brightline is designed to reinvent travel and take cars off the road by connecting city pairs,” said Gabriel Martinez, vice president of distribution and channel sales, and congested corridors that are too close to fly and too long to drive.”

Brightline operates in Florida between Miami, Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and West Palm Beach, with its Orlando station beginning service later in 2023, said Martinez.

The Brightline Orlando Station is located within the airport (MCO) and all South Florida stations are in city centers. The company is also on track to connect Las Vegas and Southern California, said Martinez.

Registered travel agents who book reservations with Brightline using a provided promo code can earn up to 20 percent commission. Travel agents will also be provided with their own discount codes for booking groups of different sizes.

The percentage discount is applicable to most train fares (and fares only) and is applied at checkout. Agents should also register to become Bright Advisors to stay on track with our progress to Orlando and the evolution of our booking tools.

“Travel Advisors, the original travel influencers, can now design vacations that combine beaches and parks, shopping and dining, land and sea, South Florida and Central Florida in one single trip like never before,” said Martinez. “Why should they care? Here is an opportunity to lengthen their clients’ vacations, make them more complete and more rewarding, both for the clients and for themselves.”

Advisors should note that there are no change or cancellation fees until four minutes prior to the scheduled train departure time.

You can change departure times, seat assignments, guest information, fare class, and extras such as checked bags by navigating to My Trips on the company’s app or by logging into its website to find your client’s reservation. Changes may affect the fare. You can cancel a reservation up to four minutes prior to train departure time on its website or app by logging in and navigating to My Trips.

“Brightline at its core is about connections, bringing together South Florida and soon Orlando, reducing the friction points of travel,” said Martinez. “Our service provides an even easier way to travel and conveniently connect in the region including our world-class cruise ports, theme parks, and more.”

Also, Brightline launched Brightline+ in 2021 to make it easier for guests to access Brightline stations and their final destinations.

The service has received rapid adoption with nearly one-third of Brightline riders using the service.

Earlier this year, Brightline announced its partnership between Brightline+ and Uber. Brightline now offers Brightline+ rideshare service supercharged by Uber, for transportation to and from Brightline stations and South Florida’s three major cruise ports.

“Travel advisors have a variety of clients to target for Brightline service,” said Martinez. “Cruisers sailing out of South Florida combining a trip to Orlando, modern adventurers looking for a multi-destination getaway, travelers who want to explore and see more of the Sunshine State, savvy flyers who find a great rate to one airport, convention, and meeting-goers seeking a beach holiday, novelty seekers who can’t believe we finally built it and those deniers who said it would never be done, and anyone seeking to maximize their time and minimize their stress while on vacation in Florida.”
