Tourism Australia Names New U.S. Distribution Development Manager

Tourism Australia has confirmed that Jonathan Heasman will be joining the organization as distribution development manager following the exit of industry veteran Glen Davis.

Heasman’s background is in travel sales and destination promotion, including trade-facing roles at VisitBritain. Most recently, Heasman served as travel trade manager, national accounts, USA, for the national tourism agency.

“We’re delighted to welcome Jonathan Heasman as our new distribution development manager for the East and Central USA,” Chris Allison, vice president, The Americas & New Zealand at Tourism Australia, told Travel Market Report. “Jonathan brings a wealth of experience from his time at VisitBritain and a deep understanding of destination marketing organizations. His passion for Australia makes him a natural fit for our team.”

Heasman will replace Tourism Australia’s current DDM for East and Central USA, Glen Davis, who recently announced his departure from the organization after 17 years.

“I’m truly grateful for the opportunities this amazing organization has given me — across London, Sydney, Los Angeles, and New York. I’ve had the chance to work on so many amazing projects with truly fantastic people, and I’ve made lifelong friends along the way,” Davis said in a LinkedIn post. “To everyone who has supported and guided me over the years — thank you. There are far too many of you to name, but please know how much I’ve valued your advice and belief.”

Allison acknowledged Davis’ many contributions to Tourism Australia in his statement to TMR, saying, “I would also like to take this opportunity to recognize the outstanding contributions to the role and the broader industry made by Jonathan’s predecessor, Glen Davis. We wish him all the very best in his next chapter.”
