Aloft, Marriott’s modern city-centric hotel brand is bringing a new property to Orlando, Fla.

Aloft announced today that it would open Aloft Lake Nona in the city’s Lake Nona area. The hotel will open just south of Orlando International Airport and adjacent to the United States Tennis Association’s (USTA) National Campus.

The hotel adds 205 guest rooms and 15 suites to the area, all with open floor plans, ultra-plush beds, and more.

The new Aloft Lake Nona will also open with more than 17,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor event space, including a 6,000 sq. ft. ballroom. The ballroom is named after Althea Neale Gibson, one of the first black athletes to cross the color line of tennis in the 1950s.

Plans also include several dining options on site spearheaded by Michelin-recommended Chef Guillaume Robin. They include Tempo + Grace, an all-day indoor and outdoor restaurant on the hotel’s ground level, and Re:Mix lounge & WXYZ Bar, which will host live music daily.

In its announcement, Aloft specifically called out the area’s need for more rooms following the opening of Brightline’s Orlando Station this fall. With that opening last September, Brightline now offers service between Miami and Orlando, with stops in Aventura, Fort Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and West Palm Beach.
