Andaz Miami Beach has opened after a transformation of the former, historic The Confidante Miami Beach hotel.

The debut marks the first new opening for Hyatt’s Lifestyle Group since its formation. Hyatt recently evolved its brand architecture to include five portfolios: Luxury, Lifestyle, Inclusive, Classics, and Essentials.

The waterfront resort features 287 guestrooms, including 64 suites, all with either ocean or city skyline views. The property also has two heated outdoor pools with private cabanas, a spa, a members’ beach club, and three dining venues curated by the José Andrés Group. While Aguasal and Bar Centro are currently open, The Bazaar by José Andrés will debut later this year. The spa and beach club are also set to open in the coming months.

“It’s a place where you arrive and never want to leave,” said Amar Lalvani, president and creative director Hyatt’s Lifestyle Group. “The setting is perfect, the feeling is effortlessly cool, the music is always just right, and with José Andrés involved, you know the food and drink will be on point.”

Lalvani is the former executive chairman of Standard International, which Hyatt acquired last year. He now leads the Hyatt’s Lifestyle Group, which has several other new openings on deck for this year, including TOOR Hotel, part of the JdV by Hyatt brand, in downtown Toronto; The Standard, Brussels; Wildbirch Hotel, the first JdV by Hyatt hotel in Anchorage, AK; and Dream Valle de Guadalupe, the first Dream Hotels-branded property in Latin America.
